Chili's Grill and Bar: New and Classic Favorites (SM Megamall Atrium)

I got invited to try Chili's new menu at SM MegamallAtrium.


Since it's been a while since I last dined at Chili's, I decided to go as I'm intrigued by their new additions and it's been a very very very long time since I've dined with fellow food bloggersand media writers and I wanted to catch up with my friend Allen of food.silkenhut.com who has recently just underwent a crucial turning point in life. =)

Food
Even with their classic, I am not well acquainted since I always go toChili'sjust for their burgers.

Appetizers

Tripple Dipper (510 php)

I had the opportunity to try some of the Tripple Dipper of my seatmate from Spot.ph.  It it a three-some combination of famous appetizers: ♥ Southern Eggrolls, Chicken Crispers and Wings Over Buffalo.  I really loved the Southern Eggrolls which is not the typical eggroll.  It is like a burrito wrapped in crispy tortilla with interesting fillings like smoked chicken bits, black beans, corn, jalapeño, Jack cheese, red peppers and spinach served with avocado dip.  If you love spicy foods like me, you will enjoy the Wings Over Buffalo served with bleu cheese dip and celery sticks.  The Chicken Crispers are battered chicken served with honey-mustard dip.

Bottomless Tostada Chips (375 php)

The Bottomless Tostada Chips is the favorite order of group diners.

Skillet Queso (405 php)

The Skillet Queso is a cheese dip with seasond beef.  It is also served with Tostada chips.  I wanted to finished this whole skillet but felt too guilty.  My resistance however paved way to my friend Allen's indulgence to swiped most of this.

 

Fried Quesadilla Bites (375 php)

The Fried Quesadilla Bites is one of the new additions on the menu.  These are flour tortillas stuffed with chicken and cheese, sprinkled with cilantro and served with chiptotle sour cream.  It's fried (a bit oily), crunchy, chewy, and cheesy.  The slightly spicy chiptotle sour cream is the perfect complement.

Bacon & Cheddar Steak (875 php)

The new Bacon & Cheddar Steak offers more than their classic flame-grilled steaks.  It is topped with melted cheese and bacon!  It also comes with choice of two sides.

Parmesan Chicken (395 php)

The Parmesan Chicken is a lean chunk of chicken breast topped with parmesan, Monterey Jack cheese and green onions which is grilled with chile butter to perfection making it juicy and tender.  It also comes with choice of two sides.

Parmesan Tilapia (425 php)

The Parmesan Tilapia is practically the same as its chicken counterpart.  But, substituted with imported tilapia.  I found it to be more buttery and zesty.


Sweet Endings

♥ Banana Bread Pudding (295 php)

My favorite part is the Banana Bread Pudding!  I didn't know that bread puddings could be this good.

Fresh Strawberries (150 php)

The Fresh Strawberries had strawberries with sweetened taste and texture as that of a strawberry jam blended with vanilla ice cream.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
No doubt burgers are still my favorite at Chili's.  But, I'm glad they have new additions so I can now din there anytime even with companions who'd prefer a more liberal option than what I always make.
